I began my process by completing a turtle study of it in many different positions so that I could get the proportions down, I also attempted to create different dimensions of the shell so that it could look more realistic. With my actual piece I again started with a sketch and then outlining it in white to define the highlights. After that I blended the colors throughout the shell to give it a marble affect. The hardest part of the process was blending the colors since I used colored pencil, and the easiest part was sketching the shape of the body.
